For this lively Kiwi Sauvignon Blanc, we didn’t follow the well-trodden path to New Zealand’s Marlborough region. Instead, our buyer trekked to the most easterly edge of the North Island, to a uniquely situated vineyard in Gisborne, on the furthest, easternmost point of the coast.
It’s the first place in the world to see the dawn rise each new day. There, bright sunlight coupled with sea breezes give this white wine its vibrant guava and mandarin fruit and lime-zest freshness.
So crisp and so refreshing, it’s the perfect glass to enjoy on its own. And also makes a terrific partner to many seafood or spicy Asian dishes.
