Fleurie Réserve Domaine de Leyre-Loup 2022

Since 1993, Jacques and Christophe Lanson have run the small family estate, Domaine Leyre-Loup. They are fully signed up to the sustainable practices of Terra Vitis and HVE, firmly believing that by respecting nature, they get the very most from their vineyards. The result is healthy, ripe grapes full of beautiful nuanced flavours.
For this superb Fleurie Réserve, they source grapes from half-century-old vineyards, planted on Poncié's south-facing granitic slopes or Les Combes' poor, sandy soils. Both these ensure even smaller yields than usual (30 hl/ha) and amazing concentration. The brothers do a mix of whole cluster and destalked berry fermentation to ensure intense fruitiness, as well as the depth and structure that enable their fine wines to age.
The 2022 vintage is a joy to drink now, no need to wait, but it will also cellar well, if you prefer. A top choice with your finest white meat dishes and meatier-style fish, like turbot.
