When Belgian entrepreneurs Christopher Heirwegh and Christel Weemaes moved to Barcelona over a decade ago, they had one simple dream: to grow, harvest and bottle the best cava in the world. Having achieved that ambition, they've since expanded their range with fabulous new sparklers, including this brilliant Hola Spritz in its eye-catching bottle.
The grapes may be Chardonnay and Macabeo, like a traditional cava, but carefully blended with citrus fruits and steeped with local herbal mountain herbs, it's more reminiscent of famous Aperol. At 8.5% alcohol, this refreshing Spanish drink offers a lovely kick of orange with all the convenience of pre-mixed fizz.
Crisp and bright with classic bitter-sweet character, expect vibrant fruity citrus aromas and hints of bitter herbs. Ideal served well-chilled with a twist of orange, it's perfect for celebrations or as an effortless aperitif on its own.
