The Story Behind the Bottle
Johnny Quarisa is a full-volume, energetic Aussie winemaker, who has made wine for many top wineries, but with full encouragement (and a bit of “just get on with it, Johnny”) from his wife, Josephine, has now gone out on his own. As he says in his own words, “she has supported, encouraged and occasionally berated me every step of the way”. His new wine, JJ, is a thank you, a tribute to his Josephine, so of course, only the very best grapes would do. Ripe, juicy Cabernet with a small splash of dense, dark Durif, it’s a delicious, velvety mouthful of bright fruit. Juicy blackcurrant, mulberry and cherry with a silky hint of vanilla. A smooth, seductive mouthful that slips down on its own and is an ace choice for steak on the bbq.
