The Wine
Columbia Valley is an important appellation of America’s Washington State. It prides itself on top-class Cabernet Sauvignon (one gaining a perfect 100-point score!) and also lime-fresh Riesling. It boasts a terrific diversity of soils and terroirs thanks to the many rivers that flow there – chiefly the Colombia river and its tributaries the Walla Walla, Yakima and Snake rivers. Couple that with brilliant sunshine and cool nights and no wonder it’s such an ace destination for crisp, aromatic white wines and well-structured reds. Knotwood is a great wine from Doug Roosevelt. Pristine grapes, the juice cool fermented and bottled young makes for a this tingling-fresh Riesling, with its classic lemon and lime freshness and minerality.
