La Soufrandière Bret Brothers Macon Vinzelles 'Clos de Grand Père' 2022
Les Quarts is the best climat in Pouilly-Vinzelles and these vines sit at the highest, stoniest spot of the slope. The Bret brothers only use grapes from their older vines (50-80 years old) for this special cuvée. Citrusy, intense and complex.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Story Behind the Bottle
The Bret brothers at La Soufrandière lead the field in Mâcon. “This is the year to start taking white Burgundies from the Mâconnais seriously” wrote Jancis Robinson in 2023. Their grandfather bought the house that gives the domaine its name in 1947. Crucially he also purchased 4 hectares of vines in Pouilly-Vinzelles, but it wasn’t until 2000, when Jean-Philippe and Jean-Guillaume withdrew them from the local co-operative, that the domaine was established. They also introduced biodynamic viticulture. Les Quarts is one of the appellation’s finest slopes, commended for 1er Cru status. From 45-80 year old vines, Les Quarts is part fermented in oak casks with wild yeasts and aged for 17 months, with added creaminess from the malo.
