The Story Behind the Bottle
Lying high up in Vergisson, Domaine Saumaize-Michelin is a leading Mâcon estate. It was founded by husband and wife team Roger and Christine Saumaize, who have now handed over the day-to-day running to their children Vivien and Lisa. Vivien has been winemaker since 2018, using the same meticulous approach that her father always adopted, as well as bringing in small, but significant changes. Critics Neal Martin, Allen Meadows and William Kelley have long been singing the praises of this truly boutique property, as has our fine wine team. Their wines truly give the Côte d'Or a run for its money and, even at the top end of the spectrum, offer brilliant value.
