The Story Behind the Bottle

Affectionately nicknamed our ‘King of the Big Reds’, Le XV du Président is a southern French wine hailing from century-old Grenache vines nestled in the rocky foothills of the Pyrenees. These gnarled ancient vines don’t produce many grapes – but oh, what flavour and delicious ripeness.

Behind the bottle is Mark Hoddy, our Buyer and winemaker in the Languedoc-Roussillon, who picks out the very best parcels of grapes each year and oversees every step of the winemaking with obsessive detail.

The result? A velvet-smooth, bramble-rich red wine with warming spice and a long, satisfying finish. A customer favourite for nearly 30 years, it’s just the thing for roast lamb, vegetable gratin or a hearty plate of wild boar sausages.
