Flavour Profile
While France and Italy are famous for their sparkling wines, Tasmania’s cool climate is ideal for creating refined fizz. Crafted by the Angove Family, Lost Farm Tasmanian Cuvée exemplifies the sophistication and approachability of Tasmanian sparkling wine.
Lost Farm is the Angove family’s cool-climate winemaking project in Tasmania, named in honour of the original family farm in Tea Tree Gully, north of Adelaide, known by locals as simply “the Farm”. In the 1970s the farm was rezoned by the government, to build housing, and in the blink of an eye the family’s best vineyards were lost.
Working with a team of exceptional growers in Tasmania, fifth-generation winemaker Richard Angove selected the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay for Lost Farm Cuvée from vineyards in the Tamar Valley. High above the Tamar River, the cool climate and rich soils mean the fruit ripens slowly, concentrating the flavours and retaining their freshness.
It’s filled with lively nougat, apple and ripe pear flavours, with luscious creaminess from extended lees aging and a crisp, elegant finish. Chill lightly and enjoy as an aperitif, or paired with light seafood dishes, fresh oysters or summer salads.
