Luciani Brunello di Montalcino 2019
Superb Brunello from a historic estate dating back to the 1200s. It’s been in the Luciani family for 130 years and is organic (uncertified) in the vineyards and traditional in the cellar. From a great vintage, this red has great poise and intensity.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Story Behind the Bottle
Luciani is a historic family estate close to the hilltop town of Montalcino. Its buildings date from the 1200s to the 1930s. Before that, the land was owned by the church. It has now been in the family for seven generations, with Francesco Luciani today as winemaker. Alberto Luciano (uncle of the artist, Arturo Luciani, whose paintings adorn the estate’s walls) purchased it for the family in 1888, not knowing then just how precious its land would be for wine. The estate is very much family run and works traditionally in the cellar, handpicking all the grapes at harvest time from their organic vineyards. Aged three years in the large Slavonian oak barrels, this Brunello is a delight now, but best decant early. Or tuck away in the cellar.
