The Story Behind the Bottle
From a family long established in Chablis, Samuel Billaud started his winemaking career at Domaine Billaud-Simon in 1985. He set up on his own in 2009 and has carved out a reputation as one of the finest winemakers in Chablis. Montmains is the furthest southwest of Chablis’ 1er Cru sites and the deep, clay soil gives a generous style of Chablis that combines rich fruit with fine and refreshing minerality. As leading wine critic Neal Martin writes “Definitely this is worth seeking out” 91-93pts.
