Flavour Profile
According to winemaker Sophie Schaal there is nothing that this Pinot Noir can’t fix, and we can understand why! Organically grown in limestone-rich soil, this red wine is vibrant and expressive, filled with juicy wild berries and hints of vanilla and soft spices.
Burgundy-born Sophie and her husband Julien established their winery, Vins Schaal, in Hunawihr – a picturesque Alsatian village that has earned its place as one of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’. The focus is on allowing each vineyard to develop and express its own character that is reflected in their wines.
Their Pinot Noir’s vibrant fruit and silky texture make it a versatile pairing for a wide variety of dishes. It will complement the rich flavours of red meats and game with its bright fruit, while its delicate spiced notes harmonise with Middle Eastern and Moroccan cuisine, including tabbouleh, lamb tagine and couscous.
