Flavour Profile
Meet the Aussie Malbec you were never meant to taste. Black Stump winemaker David Joeky created this juicy red wine for drinking with mates – but now it’s yours to try as well.
It all started when our Australian buyer, Ben, invited a few mates for a backyard barbie. As people arrived, his eye was caught by a bottle brought by none other than David Joeky – the man behind our all-time bestselling Aussie red, The Black Stump. It turned out that the bottle was David’s latest passion project, a fruit-forward red made from Argentina’s star red grape – Malbec – ripened in the warm Australian sunshine.
One taste was all Ben needed to make it his mission to persuade David to let us have it for our customers. Packed with blueberry and plum fruit, notes of vanilla and spice, a hint of savoury smoke that will have you falling for Black Stump Malbec as hard as Ben did. Enjoy it at a BBQ with great company and, of course, a nice steak.
