Back in the day, Bill was a very promising middleweight boxer. But his sporting career gave way to winemaking, the family business since his parents emigrated from Italy to Australia. Bill took over their Westend Estate and has been making very punchy reds ever since. His secret is to restrict vineyard yields, which helps make his wines so rich and concentrated. This is packed with ripe berry flavours, gentle spice notes and creamy oak following maturation in US oak barrels. Big and bold, yes, but The Boxer is also very light on its feet, making it very easy to enjoy solo, or alongside lasagne or char-grilled steak.
