If you’re a lover of silky, ripe reds full of juicy fruit, try a glass of The Clink. It’s the partner-in-crime to The Clink Petite Sirah-Petit Verdot, but not as dark and foreboding and here kept solitary. Despite its name, this is a cherry red, with vibrant red and black fruit, still with gorgeous ripeness thanks to California’s brilliant sunshine. Ripe blackcurrant and blackberry, with a hint of spice, it’s a moreish style of red. A wine we’d heartily recommend when the coals of the barbecue are lighting up, with all the chargrilled offerings of the occasion, with roast chicken or veggie kebabs. It’s a very tasty drop to enjoy on its own too.
