Torbreck Woodcutter’s Shiraz 2024

From the start, the aim at the great Torbreck Estate was to create top-quality Rhône-style wines, using the great grapes of the Barossa.
They work with the best growers, many of them multi-generational, who know each vine, the soil and climate and how they interact. It is this respect for nature and expressing it in their wines that makes them so revered.
The Barossa boasts some of the oldest Rhône-varietal, dry-grown vines in the world – Grenache, Syrah and Mataro – which Torbreck use in their 98-point, £500-a-bottle The Laird.
Woodcutter's Shiraz comes from the same vineyard but from younger vines, the grapes from which are low yield and provide dense fruit richness. Hand-picked, basket-pressed and aged a year in barrel, this is a lavish red, delicious now and for years to come.
