The Wine
In the 30+ years since Torbreck was founded, this winery has gained top critic scores and the highest five red rating from James Halliday. Their wine, The Laird, regularly gains 98 points. Initially they focussed on creating supreme quality Rhône-style wines, using the great grapes of the Barossa. But today, they have broadened their scope with a wider range of Barossa grapes. They work with the best growers, many of them multi-generational, who know each vine, the soil and climate and how they interact. It is this respect for nature and expressing it in their wines that makes them so revered. Part fermented in seasoned French oak, this fine Semillon has a superb balance of bright fruit and creaminess. Perfect with white meats and seafood.
