The Story Behind the Bottle

Bin Select Vermentino is a special-project white from our favourite Aussie winemaker, Sam Trimboli.

Vermentino is a classic Italian grape, loved for its zesty, refreshing flavours. Jancis Robinson MW calls it “a quintessentially Mediterranean grape variety” with a “racy, citrus, often mineral and sometimes marine character”.

What happens when this sun-loving Italian grape ripens under Australian skies? We asked our old friend Sam Trimboli – whose fellow winemakers call him ‘Mr Medals’ – to find out. Sam, with his Italian roots, was only too happy to take on the challenge.

The result? A triumph. Bursting with ripe stone fruit, waterfalls of citrus freshness and a crisp apple tang that lingers on the palate, leaving you wanting more. Give it a go and see why we’re tipping Vermentino as the next Sauvignon Blanc.
