The Despagne family have been growers in Bordeaux for many generations. They are firmly committed to biodiversity and sustainable viticulture, gaining the HVE3 status. The latest generation in charge is Thibault Despagne, who spent several years travelling the world, making wine and surfing! In 1998, he returned to the Entre Deux Mers and started making wines that have given him almost rockstar status. Famously, in 2001, his Bordeaux Supérieur Girolate beat some very smart Right Bank wines in a blind tasting, causing Parker to write, "it must be tasted to be believed"! Not quite those giddy heights, this is deliciously bright, fresh Sauvignon Blanc, with a splash of Sémillon for extra body. Appetising solo or with seafood or Asian noodles.
