Established in 1743, Moët & Chandon is the world’s largest Champagne House today. Most of this is their famous Impérial Brut. This is their exciting Réserve Impériale, first added to their range in 1996. It’s described by Chefs de Cave (head winemaker) Benoit Gouez as “a gastronomical Champagne that retains the freshness of an aperitif on the palate”. And there are two distinct ways in which this Réserve differs from Moët’s standard Impérial. Firstly, Pinot Noir makes up 40-50 % of the blend adding richer structure and red fruit character. Secondly, the wine has been matured for an additional 6-12 months, enriching its toasty, brioche layers. Beautifully increasing the depth while retaining Moët’s signature elegant and fruit-forward style.
