Split Rock Riesling 2021
Nelson
Loading...

This off-dry, zesty Riesling comes from the oldest family winery on New Zealand’s South Island – Seifried estate in sunny Nelson, established well before Cloudy Bay. The Aussies make ultra-appetising, lime-fresh Rieslings. Now taste it the Kiwi way.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Wine
Named after the distinctive Split Apple Rock in Abel Tasman National Park, this wine is from the Seifried estate, founded by Austrian Hermann Seifried in 1973. He only visited the country due to his passion for the All Blacks, then fell in love with Agnes, a primary school teacher and never left! The grapes for Split Rock all come from the family's own vineyards (one planted in the 1970s, the other in the 1990s) in Nelson, the sunniest region of New Zealand. It’s pure Riesling, a grape that is once more winning over consumers, largely thanks to the appetising wines on this side of the world. The wine is off-dry, yet with lots of bracing freshness to balance. Chill down well and enjoy a glass on its own, with spicy Asian cuisine or seafood.

Lovely Riesling. Normally, I find this grape quite acidic but this one is perfectly balanced
