Josef’s story is an incredible one, having arrived in Tasmania as a penniless teenager after fleeing war-torn Czechoslavakia in 1950. He became a pioneer in Tasmania’s food and wine scene and helped set up big wine names like Jansz and Tamar Ridge, before establishing Josef Chromy in 2007.
Winners of numerous medals and Trophies, including ‘Best Chardonnay in the World’ at the Decanter World Wine Awards, Josef Chromy is today considered one of Australia’s leading estates.
