Rich, silky red Burgundy with grip from one of the most reliable villages of the Côte d’Or. As Hugh Johnson points out, “any Chambolle Musigny is likely to be very good” (World Atlas of Wine). Hudelot Baillet’s is "just delicious" (Neal Martin).

The Story Behind the Bottle
This lovely Burgundy comes from a domaine, whose "nuanced wines need but a sip to compel a purchase” (Neal Martin). It lies in Chambolle-Musigny, one of Burgundy's most sought-after villages, while the winemaker is Dominique Leguen, Joël Hudelot-Baillet’s son-in-law. In recent years the wines have benefited from lower yields in the vineyards and a system that helps to keep the soils alive and healthy to strengthen vines. The result is wines with power and elegance. This charming 2020 has intense Pinot Noir fruit, enhanced by smoky oak aromas. It’s complex, soft and long on the palate. Open a couple of hours before serving and enjoy with grilled meats or, even better, with the famous specialities of Burgundy like coq au vin or snails!
