Léoville-Barton is always one of our favourite châteaux. An exceptional Second Growth that invariably matches or exceeds far pricier neighbours. That’s especially true in the 5-star 2022, the first vintage produced in the estate’s new winery.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.

The Wine
William Kelley of Wine Advocate describes Léoville-Barton 2022 as “one of the stars of the Médoc” describing it is “vibrant, pure and seamless”. He awarded it 96-97+ points. But then Léoville-Barton is always one of those châteaux that true claret lovers speak of with a smile. One of the real greats of Saint-Julien, often described as “the ultimate Englishman’s claret”, so highly is it rated this side of the channel. The 2022 is dominated by 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, with Merlot and Cabernet Franc topping up the blend. With 60% aged in new oak barrels the result is a dark, muscular claret with superb aromatics of cassis, plum and tobacco leaf that will unquestionably cellar beautifully for two decades or more. Wonderful purity and precision.
