For this wine, that was the McLaren Vale, Barossa Valley and Langhorne Creek – a hat trick of premium regions. It’s a gorgeous, velvety red, with dense, ripe black fruit, dark chocolate notes and intriguing savoury spice. Bold in aroma, seductive in texture, rich in fruit and deep in flavour. A terrific, well-priced Shiraz, delicious now but with the class and structure to age too. Ideally decant a couple of hours beforehand and pair with roast red meats or a warming casserole.
