Mâcon-Loché

Suckling wrote that Giroux’s wines prove you “don’t need a 1er designation to rock the chardonnay world!” This fine, complex Mâcon-Loché white is from a tiny parcel of vines, fermented and aged partly in oak. Creamy, honeyed peach with spicy length.
We're sorry, this wine is sold out.
But don't worry, you'll find plenty more handpicked wines here.

The Story Behind the Bottle
Despite being a designated appellation since 1937, Mâcon-Loché is the Mâconnais’s least known subregion. En Pret de Fôret is a half-hectare parcel of superb 25-year-old vines, southeast-facing and planted on clay-limestone soils. Fermentation and ageing in stainless steel (75%) and seasoned oak barrels has resulted in this rich, spiced white Burgundy with exceptional complexity. Very fine now, or cellar. Ideal with seafood or creamy white meat dishes.
