His ancestors came from Austria and Slovenia, until his great grandfather moved in 1881 to Villanova in Italy, on the Austrian border. Silvio Jermann took over the estate in the 1970s, converting his viticulture to organic practices and always aiming for the very highest quality. He has been praised as an innovator and a visionary and his wines are enjoyed worldwide. Tunina is a flagship wine – a voluptuous mix of native and international grapes – Ribolla Gialla, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Malvasia Istriana and Picolit – fermented and aged in barrel.
